YWAM Mercy Vietnam has been helping Loi (center) since she was a toddler. Even though we have arranged for her to meet with specialists who have tried various treatments, Loi’s eyesight has been getting progressively worse and she is now blind. She is the third generation in her family to suffer from this problem.
Since her eyesight has deteriorated, Loi has not been able to attend school. Her father also has not been able to work to earn an income. Her mother is living in Hanoi and working as a domestic helper to support the family. This has been very hard on Loi and the whole family. There is noone able to properly care for Loi, except her two sisters who leave Loi to attend school each day.
Recently we were able to help Loi’s family to apply for her to attend Nguyen Dinh Chieu School for the Blind in Hanoi. Now Loi is able to be close to her mother again in addition to learning in school.
