The following Privacy Policy governs the online information collection practices of YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Mercy Vietnam (“we” or “us”). Specifically, it outlines the types of information that we gather about you while you are using ywammercyvietnam.org (the “Site”), and social media pages (collectively, “Social Media”), and the ways in which we use this information.
This Privacy Policy, including our children’s privacy statement, does not apply to any information you may provide to us or that we may collect offline and/or through other means (for example, at a live event, via telephone, or through the mail).
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By visiting and using the Site and Social Media, you agree that your use of our Sites and Social Media, and any dispute over privacy, is governed by this Privacy Policy.
Because the Web is an evolving medium, we may need to change our Privacy Policy at some point in the future, in which case we’ll post the changes to this Privacy Policy on the Sites and Social Media and update the Effective Date of the policy to reflect the date of the changes. By continuing to use the Site and Social Media after we post any such changes, you accept the Privacy Policy as modified.
Use of any personal information or contribution that you provide to us, or which is collected by us on or through our Sites or Social Media or its content is governed by this Privacy Policy. By using our Sites or Social Media, you consent to this Privacy Policy, whether or not you have read it.
How We Collect and Use Information
General Summary
We may collect and store personal or other information that you voluntarily supply to us online while using Sites and Social Media (e.g., while on the Site or in responding via email to a feature provided on the Site). The Sites collect personally identifying information from our users during online registration and online donating. Generally, this information includes name and email address for registration or opt-in purposes and name, postal address, and email when donating. All of this information is provided to us by you.
We use the information we collect from you to provide the services and information you requested.
Specifics on Information We May Collect
We will only collect the minimum amount of information necessary for us to fulfill our obligation to you. We may collect:
- A name and an email address so we can deliver our newsletter to you – you affirmatively consent to this by providing this to us in our contact forms.
- Billing information including name, address and email address so that we can process donation payments to deliver our services to you under our contractual obligation.
- A name and an email address if you complete our contact form with a question. We may send you email if we believe we have a legitimate reason to contact you based on your question.
Please note that the information above (“Personal Data”) that you are giving to us is voluntarily, and by you providing this information to us you are giving consent for us to use, collect and process this Personal Data.
You are welcome to opt-out or request for us to delete your Personal Data at any point by contacting us at ywam@ywammercyvietnam.org.
If you choose not to provide us with certain Personal Data, you may not be able to participate in certain aspects of our Site or Social Media.
What We Do With Information We Collect
Contact You
We may contact you with information that you provide to us based on these lawful grounds for processing:
- We may contact you if you give us your clear, unambiguous, affirmative consent.
- Contract. We will contact you to deliver contractually obligated services such as providing updates about work done with the donations you give us.
- Legitimate Interest. We may contact you if we feel you have a legitimate interest in hearing from us. You will always have the option to opt out of any of our emails.
Process Payments
We will use the Personal Data you give to us in order to process donations. We only use third party payment processors that take the utmost care in securing data and comply with the GDPR.
Share with Third Parties
We may share your information with trusted third parties such as our newsletter provider in order to contact you via email, our merchant accounts to process payments, contractors, third-party publishers and Google / social media accounts.
Unless you inform us in accordance with the process described in this Privacy Policy, we reserve the right to use, and to disclose to third parties, all of the information collected from and about you while you are using the Sites and Social Media in any way and for any purpose, such as to enable us or a third party to provide you with information about our work. If you do not wish your information to be used for these purposes, you must communicate by email to the email address listed at the end of this Privacy Policy requesting to be taken off any lists of information that may be used for these purposes or that may be given to third-parties.
The Sites also include links to other websites whose privacy policies we do not control. When you access another website use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you are visiting.
Viewing by Others
Note that whenever you voluntarily make your Personal Data available for viewing by others online through the Sites or Social Media, it may be seen, collected and used by others, and therefore, we cannot be responsible for any unauthorized or improper use of the information that you voluntarily share (i.e., posting in a Facebook group that we manage, etc.).
Submission, Storage, Sharing and Transferring of Personal Data
Personal Data that you provide to us is stored internally or through a data management system. Your Personal Data will only be accessed by those who help to obtain, manage or store that information, or who have a legitimate need to know such Personal Data (i.e., our hosting provider, newsletter provider, payment processors or team members). We use reasonable efforts to make sure our data processors are GDPR-compliant.
It is important to note that we may transfer data internationally. For users in the European Union, please be aware that we transfer Personal Data outside of the European Union. By using our Site and providing us with your Personal Data, you consent to these transfers in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We retain your Personal Data for the minimum amount of time necessary to provide you with the information and / or services that you requested from us. We may include certain Personal Data for longer periods of time if necessary for legal, contractual and accounting obligations.

We aim to keep the Personal Data that you share with us confidential. How You Can Access, Update or Delete Your Personal Data
You have the right to:
- Request information about how your Personal Data is being used and request a copy of what Personal Data we use.
- Restrict processing if you think the Personal Data is not accurate, unlawful, or no longer needed.
- Rectify or erase Personal Data and receive confirmation of the rectification or erasure. (You have the “right to be forgotten”).
- Withdraw your consent at any time to the processing of your Personal Data.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you feel we are using your Personal Data unlawfully.
- Receive Personal Data portability and transference to another controller without our hindrance.
- Object to our use of your Personal Data.
- Not be subject to an automated decision based solely on automatic processing, including profiling, which legally or significantly affects you.

Security
We take commercially reasonable steps to protect the Personal Data you provide to us from misuse, disclosure or unauthorized access. We only share your Personal Data with trusted third parties who use the same level of care in processing your Personal Data. That being said, we cannot guarantee that your Personal Data will always be secure due to technology or security breaches. Should there be a data breach of which we are aware, we will inform you immediately.
Anti-Spam Policy
We have a no spam policy and provide you with the ability to opt-out of our communications by selecting the unsubscribe link at the footer of all e-mails. We will not sell, rent or share your email address.
As advertisers on Facebook and through our Facebook page, we (not Facebook) may collect content or information from a Facebook user, and such information may be used in the same manner specified in this Privacy Policy. You consent to our collection of such information.
We abide by Facebook’s Data Use Restrictions.
Children’s Privacy Statement
This children’s privacy statement explains our practices with respect to the online collection and use of personal information from children under the age of thirteen and provides important information regarding their rights under federal law with respect to such information.
- The Sites are not directed to children under the age of thirteen and we do NOT knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the Site. We screen users who wish to provide personal information in order to prevent users under the age of thirteen from providing such information. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under the age of thirteen as part of the Sites, we will delete such information from our records. If we change our practices in the future, we will obtain prior, verifiable parental consent before collecting any personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the Site.
- Because we do not collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the Sites, we also do NOT knowingly distribute such information to third parties.
- We do NOT knowingly allow children under the age of thirteen to publicly post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information through the Site.
- Because we do not collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the Sites, we do NOT condition the participation of a child under thirteen in the Site’s online activities on providing personally identifiable information.

We may use your Personal Data, such as your contact information, to inform you of changes to the Website or its content, or, if requested, to send you additional information about us. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify or otherwise alter our Site, its content and this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of any of information obtained through or on the Site or its content following the posting of changes and/or modifications constituted acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
