For the last 15 years, every summer YWAM Mercy has raised funds to provide educational assistance to school-aged children in difficult circumstances in the areas where we work.
Every July our staff spend a significant amount of their time visiting families and assessing their need for assistance based on pre-determined criteria. We work hard to complete this activity in July so children receive the needed school supplies before school starts in September.

In rural areas, many families do not have the funds to purchase the school supplies needed for their children to start school which puts them at risk of dropping out. The assistance YWAM Mercy provides because of the generosity of donors is less than $20 per child, but the uniforms, textbooks, pencils and such that they receive make a big impact. This is a great motivation for them to continue to work hard in school.
The photos below show some of the first children this summer to receive their school supplies for the upcoming 2019-20 school year.
