Kim Dung (17 years old, pronounced “Zoom”) won a Bronze Medal at the yearly student athletic competition organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism in collaboration with the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. The event took place March 4-6, 2019 at Hanoi’s My Dinh Outdoor Stadium.

After the preliminary round at the district level in January, 1,600 students from 46 high schools advanced to the citywide competition. Running events included 60m, 100m, 200m, 800m, 1,500m, 2,000m, and 3,000m distances. In addition, children competed in the long jump, shot put, relay, and handball (both male and female).

Dung is a member of the Ba Vi High School delegation participating in the 1,500m and 2,000m running races. She won a BRONZE medal running the 1,500m distance. This is a miraculous accomplishment since several years ago we sent out a prayer request because she was in the hospital unconscious with meningitis! She has fully recovered and is excelling once again, not only in sports, but in academics as well.
