A district New Year festival gave some of our project beneficiaries an opportunity to show case their agricultural products to a larger audience.
This Spring Festival is held every year just after the Lunar New Year Holiday. People come together from all over the district. It involves many fun activities such as tree planting, a New Year cake (Bang Chung) wrapping contest, Day cake (Banh Day) making activities and many traditional folk games and sports contests.
The organising committee also prepared 26 booths for villages in the district to display their key products.
SSCD helped villages where we are working to make the most of this opportunity by helping them effectively present their products. It created a marketing opportunity for some of our agricultural models growing things like taro, mushrooms, flowers, cantaloupes and tomatoes.
This was an opportunity for us to support the farmers in a very practical way.

This mushroom business showed off their products at the fair.

A cantaloupe grower and the flower club YWAM Mercy/SSCD is helping also displayed their products at the fair.
